This documentary show explores the lives of several residents of Alaska’s remote areas in their struggle to endure the harsh winter conditions and extreme situations.

For some, the nearest neighbor is just 300 miles away; for others, sleds are the sole means to travel. Although reality television can be entertaining for its short length. This show is genuine and authentic about life among the most challenging regions. Because of its success, National Geographic has created spinoffs, such as the Life Below Zero series: First Alaskans.
