Kids are infinitely attracted to the play areas in the malls and almost all bug places around the city. When you go out to eat at a food chain, all they want is to go to the kids’ area and play as much as they can.
As much as you would want to protect them from getting harmed, it is important for their physical and mental growth to have such experiences every once in a while. It doesn’t mean to be careless. There are some things that you should confirm before allowing your kids to go to the play area of any cafe, mall, or park.
Make Sure It’s Safe
First, you will want to know if the area is designed for the kids. The areas designed for kids have special protective protocols followed. They have big foam blocks covering the entire floor of the play area. It is to make the falls injury-free. Even if your kids fall off while using a swing, they will not get any serious injury because the foam on the floor will absorb all the impact.
That’s why you should always check the floor of the play area and make sure it is insulated with foam for cushions in one way or another. If it is not secured, or protected, it is not worth risking your child’s health. You can let them cry for a minute until their ice cream comes.
Make Them Wear the Protective Equipment
Before sending your kids to a play area, ask the staff if they have any protective equipment for the children. If they do give you access to the equipment, make your child wear it. If they don’t have any, try keeping one or two safety tools for your kids in your bag at all times. Especially keep arm and knee pads and use them on occasions like these.
Don’t Lose Their Sight
The kids’ areas might seem to be safe and sound but can catch the attention of many perverts. Therefore, even if your kid is playing there, never for a second lose their sight. Make sure that you are sitting in the area near the kids’ zone and keep an eye on your child all the time.
It is possible that your child forgets the path and goes somewhere else instead of coming back to you. It is also likely that they end up leaving that place and ending up in the hands of a stranger. No matter how much you train your kid, they can still fall prey to evil strangers especially when you are not around and they don’t know anyone around you. Don’t give anyone the chance to manipulate your kids and kidnap them.
Know Potential Threats
Lastly, you must know all the potential threats surrounding that area and the people around your kid. If they are in a school, know their teachers. If they are with their friends, know their friends.
